Monhegan island is a small island off the coast of Maine in the Atlantic Ocean. Even though we are small, there is beauty in the simplicity and nature of island life. Attached to the Monhegan Lighthouse guests can enjoy the art of Maud Briggs Knowlton , who painted Monhegan Island in the late 1890's. They also offer tours of the actual lighthouse twice a week with weather permitting.
